Scenario • The scenario: • An American historical organization with lots of money has approached your team and asked it to create an appealing and educational monument commemorating some part of the 1920s. • Your job is to research a historical subject, create a monument based on it, and present this monument to the historical organization. • The historical organization is particularly interested in a monument with a subject that is not very famous or well-known, although that’s not a requirement
Your Monument • Your monument should be: • Original – it doesn’t copy or take from other monuments • Engaging – it looks like the type of monument someone would want to go see • Educational – it teachers the viewer something that they didn’t know before • Because you have a wealthy backer, you should assume money, land, materials, and tools are not an issue, but time is!
Requirements • Your monument must include: • A model of the monument and any related materials that would be on the site – this can be done in any way that visually represents the monument (3-dimensional model, drawing or sketch, floor plan, etc.) • An APA-cited summary that explains the importance of the monument, what it is, what it teaches, etc. • A 3-minute presentation intended to persuade someone to build your monument
