  6. John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

  7. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. 12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

  8. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

  9. 16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. 17 This I command you, that you love one another.

  10. Abiding IS Obeying By keeping His commands we abide in His love - Jn 15:10a By keeping His commands we will be His friends - Jn 15:14 By keeping His commands we recognize the power of the Holy Spirit.– 1 Jn 3:23, 24

  11. Abiding THROUGH Obeying Governed Jesus’ relationship with His Father. John 15:10 Was Christ’s passion- John 4:34; 5:30; 6:38  Is proof of ownership – 1 John 2:3-6

  12. OLD TESTAMENT OBEDIENCE As a commitment – Deuteronomy 10:12,13 As a condition – Isaiah 1:18-20 As a choice – I Samuel 15:22-23 As a conclusion – Ecclesiastes 12:13

  13. NEW TESTAMENT OBEDIENCE As a fact – Luke 6:46 As a family – Mark 3:35 As a foundation – Matthew 28:18-20 As a force – Romans 6:17,18

  14. Abiding is..... Not an external arrangement but rather a personal relationship “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love." A tough reality that is always revealed in obedience. "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love,"
