  3. Characters • Sherlock Holmes- the main character who is a detective. Intelligent, observant, and smart • Dr. Watson- Holmes sidekick who wants to be like Holmes • Sir Henry (James Desmond)- only Baskerville left who has not been killed. • Barrymore- servant who was suspected to be the man in the cab following Sir Henry. • John Clayton- The cabby man.

Purpose of Events Holmes goes to the front desk of the hotel and asks questions to see that if he can recognize the man from the cab Sir Henry’s black boot gets stolen Holmes thinks that the servant Barrymore may be the person in the cab Sir Henry is actually James Desmond They all agree to go to the Hall The cab man returns saying that is was not Barrymore it is a man who reported his name as Sherlock Holmes.
