  1. Southeast Florida Status of Model Developments Model Coordinators D4: Min-Tang Li D6: Phil Steinmiller

  2. Southeast FloridaStatus of Model Development • Through the rough water of software migration • Actively using Cube/Voyager based SERPM 6.0 and TCRPM III

  3. Models under Constructions • SERPM 6.5 • Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach • Use “Tier D” Transit Model Framework • GTCRPM III (Greater Treasure Coast Regional Planning Model) • Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and part of Brevard (south of S.R. - 518) • Highway Only • Base Year: 2005

  4. Key Features • More Accurate Representation of “Supply” Models: • Transit: Applied “Tier D” Framework, (e.g., station micro coding) • Highway: Use physical attributes (e.g., posted speed & signal spacing) to calculate link initial speeds and capacity • Land Use: Calculated intensity instead of assigned AT

  5. SERPM 6.5 Production Plan • Developing 2030 Model for Production • Validate 24 Hour Version: by December 2007 • For Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach MPOs’ 2035 LRTP Updates • Running Time: Approximately: 7 hours on 4-cores • Validate Time-of-Day Version: by April 2008 • For Major Investment Projects • Develop (24-HR) Sub-Area Versions: by June 2008 • For local projects and site impact analyses

  6. Local Participations • Extensive local inputs on: • TAZ structure • Zonal Data Updates • Local knowledge (travel behavior) • Turnpike Data (e.g., external trip length) • Reviews

  7. FDOT-D4 2005/2030 GTCRPM Model Status Report Min-Tang Li, Ph.D., P.E. Senior Systems Engineer Planning & Environmental Management Office FDOT-D4

  8. Project Scope Study area encompasses Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Brevard Counties

  9. Model Features • Highway-only model • Initial speed • Roadway capacity • Signalized intersection delay • Interchange delay

  10. Current Status • Working base-year model completed in October • Revisit model components to improve model performance • Revisit model input (ZDATAs, network coding, etc.)

  11. Demographic Data Issues

  12. Employment Data Issues
