Danielle and the Text • Read the primary text and write down initial impressions • Read lots of research material, biographical accounts, and critical reviews from various perspectives • Avoided being too broad by narrowing the focus • Started first draft by using a combination of personal thoughts and the opinion of others

  12. How Do You Find a Thesis??? • What in the world is a thesis, anyway? • A thesis is like a hypothesis – the idea(s) that your paper proves

How and When Do You Start Researching? • Start by researching your notes and primary texts – this may help solidify your paper topic! • Move on to academic research to see what topics have/have not been discussed – you want to pick something that has not been exhausted! Research like a professor
