  2. What is the topic of the sample program presentation you watched? It was about Lola Seria’s 100th birthday and how her grandchildren found different ways to surprise Lola Seria. It was story-telling time and it was a good way to teach their children viewers how to pronounce English words and how to construct sentences correctly through listening to Luis, the reader.

  3. What were used to explain or illustrate the concepts being taught? • There were no naming of concepts in the program, instead, lessons were taught without making it obvious by using the language in a conversation and by reading a book. This way, the children will learn the practical use of the language instead of just learning the terms for each lesson.

  4. How did the presentation simplify and apply the concepts in real life situations? • Because it was a program intended to teach children how to speak in English and how to communicate in English, the lessons were taught in a manner of conversing in English. So, the stars of the program would talk to each other in English and would later translate it to Tagalog so that the children would easily understand what they are conversing about.

  5. What are the things you liked about the presentation you watched? • There were 3 things that we liked about the presentation. First thing was their presentation of concepts through story telling. In that way, children were able to visualize since their drawing correctly represents the real event. It also enhances the children’s ability to be more creative and imaginative. Second was their effective usage of props. Third was the models and actors featured in the program. Their excellencies in terms of delivering the concepts were effective. They made us see and hear for ourselves of what really was the concept all about. These 3 made the program understandable and appealing to a wide variety of age and educational levels.

Why is it that some teachers encouraged to make use of the available educational TV programs? • Since we can see the rapid growth of technology nowadays, we think teachers should really be encouraged to make use of educational TV programs because children today were so exposed to media. It can also contribute to a more lasting learning because of its motion effects. In addition, it serves as teachers’ another visual aid. It is also for the students to have an idea that there are other teaching methods aside from plain lecture.

  7. Educational programs such as this are widely used for it is a great way to catch the attention of the viewers and a fun way to educate them. Lessons here, no matter how boring, are made very interesting by relating them to real life-situations which children find easier to understand. And, like hitting two birds with one stone, it enhances their visual and auditory learning skills too. A child’s comprehension can also be developed thru this because watching educational programs often will enable a child’s said skill to improve.
