A Truth to Remember: God wants us to have a good reputation, especially since we represent Christ. Jesus is Lord
Christians will guard their tongues Prov 19:5 1. We will not want to gossip, slander or lie about others.
James 3:2-12 2. We will not want to speak unlovingly about anyone, even if it is true.
Christians will use their tongues kindly Eph 4:15 1. To speak the truth in love. 2. To always say what is the BEST about others.
9th & 10th Commandments: Contentment Truth: Using what you have in thanksgiving to God the Giver.
“You shall not covet” 9th = inanimate 10th = animate Christians will not want to: 1. covet
“Being unhappy because of what you don’t have.” What is coveting?
1 Tim 6:6-8; 9-10 2. Selfishly trying to get what belongs to others. Selfish Greed Vs. Contented acquiring Christians will want to: 1. Be Content (Be so happy with what I have, I use it as best I can to God’s glory.)
Conclusion The Conclusion to the Commandments can be summarized by reviewing the Christian’s life of Justification and Sanctification, based on the following diagram:
