  2. Assistive Technology Assistive Technology is devices used for people with disabilities that will help them be able to function and understand in a regular setting. These devices help them communicate better, perform academic tasks, participate socially, and navigate around from place to place independently.

  3. Assistive technology law states • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) - Prohibits discrimination and ensuresequal opportunity for persons with disabilities in employment, state and local government services, public accommodations, commercial facilities, and transportation. The ADA requires that reasonable accommodations be provided in meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities. Additional technical assistance regarding the ADA is available through theADA Technical Assistance Program. • Section 501 of the Rehabilitation Act - Section 501 of this act prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in Federal employment and requires Federal agencies to establish affirmative action plans for the hiring, placement, and advancement of people with disabilities in Federal employment.

  4. Hearing impaired Teletype The first teletype machine was invented in 1964 by a Deaf physicist named Robert Weitbrecht. The TTY is a combination of a teletype machine and a telephone. The keyboard of the TTY sends a series of beeps with each letter. These letters are printed across a screen above the keyboard.

  5. Seeing impaired Speak Easy Media Computer • This computer is designed specifically for the blind and visually impaired. The Media System allows its users to read typed documents, news, e-mail, audio books, encyclopedia, dictionary, weather forecasts, and much more. The system comes preconfigured with an e- mail account, many news publication sources, and radio shows.

  6. Learning disabled • This program is designed to effectively focus on improving a child’s coordination skills and focus skills. It enhances timing whiles using games, music, sports and much more to help learning dysfunctions. Brain Beat

  7. Physical disabled Hoveround Power Chair • This device is used for individuals who are not able to use their legs or not have enough strength to stand for a period of time. It allows a person to go long distances with out getting tired.
