  2. Welcome & Introduction - Peter Purpose of the session Enable a frank discussion on purpose and focus of the Board Prepare for Public Consultation (more on that shortly) This is not decision making forum We are here to gather ideas and formulate a focus to be tested through public consultation

Context - David Series of steps Output of this session will be input to a Consultation tool (e.g., survey) Q3 Consultation of key IAESB stakeholders & public Consultation with IAESB CAG October Board session – Board operations and resourcing Exposure Draft of Strategy & Work Plan 12-16 months time will decision making point

Necessary Output from this Session Input to the Public Consultation • 5-10 high level environmental trends • 5-10 high level statements of strategic focus • Clear and linked to projects and activities • Public will be able to comment on these • Projects and Activities • Statements of what they are and who they will be focused on • Public comment on whether the list of Projects and Activities are appropriate and what the priorities should be

  11. Breakout Process • Set up and clarification • Individual accumulation of ideas onto Post-its • One idea per post-it • Posting of Post-its • Identify themes • Prioritization of themes • Restate themes for report back

  12. Breakout 1 – Environmental Scan What are the critical trends and issues that should inform the Strategy & Work Plan? What are the implications of these trends and factors for the Strategy & Work Plan?

Breakout 2 – Strategic Focus • Set up comments from Peter • Discussion on the draft Value Proposition – Does the Value Proposition provide sufficient clarity and guidance to enable dialogue on strategic focus? • Breakouts – • Given the discussion on the Environmental Scan and the Value Proposition, what should be the objectives of the next Strategy & Work Plan? • Given that the IAESB is a standard setting board, what proportion of our time/resources should be devoted to setting new standards versus engaging in outreach activities to promote the implementation of the IESs?

  14. Breakout 2 – Projects & Activities What projects and activities should be in the IAESB’s proposed SWP? Definitions IAESB Projects are defined as projects that require a project proposal and approval by the Education Board IAESB Activities are defined as activities that do not need the Education Board’s approval, but are performed with the aim to improve the Board’s stature, or increase awareness IAESB pronouncements (e.g., Conference presentations, meetings with government agencies)
