Integrated Management Systems ISO 9001 • The most commonly used international standard that provides a framework for a Quality Management System • Minimum entry to compete in OEM world Our policy has been developed to ensure: • That all employees understand and support the Quality systems in place at GEEP • That all documentation is set to an international standard and that compliance is achieved using BEST PRACTICES • Committed to consistently meeting or exceeding the requirements of our customers and raw material suppliers • Commitment to continually improve in all aspect of business.

Integrated Management Systems ISO 14001 • Is the Environmental Management System • Minimum entry to compete in OEM world Our policy has been developed to ensure: • Compliance with environmental laws and regulations • Prevent pollution, reduce consumption of energy and materials and ensure safe disposal of residual waste • All GEEP employees understand and maintain the environmental system in place. • Educate, train and encourage employees to protect the environmental in all activities

OHSAS 18000 • Health & Safety quality system protecting the health and safety of your most important asset, your employees. • OHSAS is more proactive – helps you plan and consider all risks, not just be reactive.  • A systematic approach to developing and maintaining a Health and Safety program.

Industry Specific Certification Programs R-2 Certification • United States EPA, ISRI and other e-recycling stakeholders developed the standard and was published in October 2008 • Requires a management system to be implemented alongside the electronics standard • Some OEM’s and Fortune 500 multi-national companies may require this compliance tool • Perform data destruction services that are compliant with industry standards (DOD & NIST), 3rd party audit of software • Require special care and attention for “Focus Materials” • Maintain sufficient records to demonstrate the flow of equipment, components & materials • Documented proof of testing to demonstrate fully functional equipment is being remarketed

Industry Specific Certification Programs E-stewards • Requires a management system to be implemented along side the electronics standard • Requirement that ewaste recyclers to be more responsible, and do what they say they are doing. • Some OEM’s and Fortune 500 multi-national companies may require this compliance tool. • Perform data destruction services that are compliant with industry standards (DOD & NIST) • Require special care and attention for “Focus Materials” • Require Mass Balancing accounting • Documented proof of testing to demonstrate fully functional equipment is being remarketed.

Lessons Learned • Commitment on the development of a strong compliance team • Strong compliance levels give our customers confidence of consistent quality no matter what site is used. • Continue to be vigilant in audit processes with our downstream and process partners • Implementation is a long and difficult process. • Must have support and co-operation of EVERYONE within the organization to be successful. • It must have on-going commitment within an organization. • Tremendous financial costs associated with compliance levels. Might say “ cost of admission” into the e-waste processing game. • In all systems: SAY WHAT YOU DO DO WHAT YOU SAY AND PROVE IT….THEN IMPROVE IT
