1. Alvarado Hospital Shows Off New Emergency Department at Grand Opening Alvarado Hospital held a grand opening for their new emergency department today. The celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and tours of the new facility open to the public from 11 AM-3 PM. Members of the community were invited to get an up-close look at a modern, state-of-the-art emergency room right before it becomes operational. This new wing expands the hospital’s emergency medicine capacity from 12 to 32 beds, and remains a certified primary stroke center, STEMI severe heart attack receiving center, and accredited for geriatric emergency care. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was presided over by representatives of local elected officials, community leaders and stakeholders, and hospital leadership. Hundreds of members of the local community, as well as hospital staff, enjoyed the guided tours of the facility.
