  1. Once a man dies and the earth drinks up his blood, there is no resurrection. A T H E N S

  2. Acts 17:30-31 ~ Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.

  3. Acts 17:32 ~ And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.”

  4. If a man dies, shall he live again? (Job 14:14) For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God. (Job 19:25-26)

  5. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Daniel 12:2)

  6. John 14:19 ~ Because I live, you will live also. John 11:25 ~ Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”

  7. What’s the issue here in 1 Corinthians 15?

  8. Not doubting the resurrection of Jesus, but doubting their own resurrection in a coming day! This is about you coming out of your grave, me coming out of my grave and us coming out of our graves!!

  23. If Jesus Didn’t Rise From The Dead . . . ! (V12-19)

  24. Someone said: There is no resurrection of the dead. (Dead men do not rise) If dead men do not rise, then Jesus Christ (a man who died on the cross) did not rise! If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . .

  25. If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . . (a) Our preaching is vain, your faith is vain! The Gospel is like a house, where Christ’s resurrection is its pillar. Remove the pillar and the house will collapse.

  26. If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . . (b) The apostles are liars! If they can’t be trusted in this matter, how can we trust them in other matters? If they didn’t get it right here, how do we know they will get it right in all other matters?

  27. If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . . (c) You are still in your sins! Jesus died on the cross in my place, to bear the punishment of my sins. How do I know that God has accepted His sacrifice? BY HIS RESURRECTION!!

  28. If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . . (d) Our hope for believers who died is dashed! They are gone forever, with sins un-forgiven. Hence, they have perished!

  29. If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . . (e) We Christians are BIG fools! Why live the Christian Life now if Christ is rotting in some tomb in Palestine? If He hasn’t risen, then He ascended and hence He shall not return. So why bother?

  30. If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . . (a) Our preaching is vain, your faith is vain! (b) The apostles are liars! (c) You are still in your sins! (d) Our hope for believers who died is dashed! (e) We Christians are BIG fools!

  31. If Jesus Didn’t Rise From The Dead . . . ! (V12-19) Feel the force of your denial!!

  32. BUT Jesus Christ did rise, then . . . If Jesus Christ did not rise, then . . . (a) Our preaching is vain, your faith is vain (a) Your faith well-grounded (b) The apostles are liars! (b) The apostles are trustworthy! (c) Your sins are forgiven! (c) You are still in your sins! (d) Our hope for believers who died is dashed! (d) Believers who died are alive, shall live forever! (e) We Christians are BIG fools! (e) We Christians are to be ENVIED!
