  2. Binghamton Introduction • Binghamton University is a public university that is part of the State University of New York system. It was founded in 1946 as Harpur College, and has grown to six colleges with 15,000 students. It is located in Vestal, New York.

  3. Founding • Founded in 1946 to serve WWII veterans • Moved to current location in 1961 • Renamed State University of New York at Binghamton in 1965, simply called Binghamton University since 1992
