  3. Fantastic Foods • The Plain Indians either hunted, grew, or gathered their food. Here are some of the foods they had • Buffalo • Antelope • Berries • and Deer

  4. Heroic Homes • The Plain Indians lived in teepees. They are pyramid shaped homes made of beams and buffalo skins. They always faced east where the sun rises. They would usually paint religious pictures in them.

  5. Cool Clothes • The Plain Indians had different clothes than now. The men wore leggings, loin cloth, a belt, and buffalo hide on their shoulders. The women wore dresses made of deer skin. Women wore jewelry made of seashells, beads, or metal. Something interesting is that men wore earrings and had longer hair than women!

  6. Awesome Areas • The Plain Indians lived in North America close to the Mississippi river they lived as far west as the Rocky Mountains. They didn’t live in the same place all the time. They would move from place to place they were nomadic!

  7. Fascinating Facts • They used buffalo poop as fire fuel! • They believed in underwater spirits. • They also believed in a upper world ruled by a creature called a Thunderbird. • They used porcupine quills in clothing. • They chased buffalos off cliffs!
