  3. DNA is organic acid polymers, monomers called nucleotides Nucleotides are formed of three components: Deoxyribose, one nitrogenous base and phosphate group.

  4. There are four types of nitrogenous bases: • adenine • cytosine • thymine • guanine

  5. The discovery of DNA has been attributed to the swiss Scientist Friedrich Miescher. In 1919 he discovered nucleotide’s structure

  7. Biotechnology Biotechnology based on the various changes that can be done on DNA to improve plants and animals, or develop organisms beneficial for man.
