Proponent submits application with the proposed route • Prioritize the applications by the order in which they are received and reserve the ability to defer or prioritize any portion of proposed routes over 150 miles. • Applications accepted January- March Key part of first step: Get permission from road jurisdictions!!

  9. Step 2: Completed applications sent to bikeway committee Step 3: Bikeway Committee evaluates the route Step 4: If Route has a positive evaluation, the proponent develops the management plan Step 5: Committee reviews and approves the management plan

  10. Step 6: recommendation goes to ORTAC, their recommendation is sent to Parks and Rec. Dept. Director. Step 7: Director presents recommendation to the State Parks and Rec. Dept Commission for designation.

  11. Designation Step 8: Proponent implements management plan, Bikeway committee holds five year review

  12. Criteria Best: 5 Points Moderate: 3 Points Scenic Rating • Natural • Human Made • Sensory Experiences Minimal:1Point
