Other factors to consider • Wetting & Drying • Occurs under essentially constant heat conditions • Water vapor is either added or removed without any change in the heat content of the air (Figure 2.6)
Heating & Humidifying • Both the dry bulb temp & the humidity ratio Increase. • Similar to passing through a livestock shelter • Cooling & Dehumidifying • Both the dry bulb temp & the humidity ratio decrease • Similar to air that passes through an air conditioner
Equilibrium Moisture Properties • Grain is hygroscopicequilibrium moisture content (EMC) contstant enviromental cond. • Equilibrium Relative Humidity (ERH) all changes are a function of temperature • See table 2.5
