  2. Stonehenge • Even though it is 3,800 years old, Stonehenge continues to facinate everyone.

  3. How was it Built? • Stonehenge is belived to be constructed in 3 periods over a span from 3000 to 1500 BC.The first one was just a ditch and a mound. The second phase 80 sarsen stones were set in 2 upright circles. In the final phase the famous bluestones and 30 more sarsenstones were added.

  4. Why was it Built? • Most people belive that stonehenge was an ancient observatory. They say that because at the equinoxes the sun lines up with a certain stone.

  5. Different Theories • There are many different theories circling Stonehenge and adding to it’s mystique.Soin the following slides I will list the most popular theories.

  6. Cemetery • Some people say that stonehenge was a cemetary,and say that a similar monument, called woodhenge,was a place of the living.

  7. Healing • People also say that due to conditions the cadavers found at Stonehenge it was used for healing. They (the cadavers) are injured and/or showed signs of illness.

  8. UFO • People say that they have seen ufos near stonehenge.But these are the same people that belive in crop circles and Area 51.
