The Anasazi. By Hayden and Rebekah Block 1. Food. They ate a lot of corn and vegetables. Mostly they hunted dear and buffalo to eat. They would hunt small animals if they couldn't find any dear or buffalo. Sometimes when there wasn’t any food they would eat each other to survive. Tools.

  1. The Anasazi By Hayden and Rebekah Block 1

  2. Food • They ate a lot of corn and vegetables. • Mostly they hunted dear and buffalo to eat. • They would hunt small animals if they couldn't find any dear or buffalo. • Sometimes when there wasn’t any food they would eat each other to survive.

  3. Tools • They used stone tools which is when they break up bits of rocks to make sharp knives. • They used fleshers to scrape the skin of an animal or the skin off a bone. • They used baskets to carry there food and water in.

  4. Where Did They Live • They lived in the states of Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona were the corners of the states meet. • They lived in caves. • They would also live in houses made of poles and adobe mud.

  5. Language • They spoke many different languages including the Hopi. • They did have words of there own like dine which means ancient people that are not us or enemy ancestors. • They used the word moki a lot which means dead ones.

  6. Toys • Nobody is quite sure if they had toys to play with. • Who knows if someone finds remains of an old doll that was the Anasazi’s it could be a toy or something they worshiped in ritual contexts. • The Anasazi children probably made their own games to play if they had no toys.

  7. Pottery • Most of there first pottery wasn’t decorated. • Their pottery kept bugs from getting in the food. • There pottery was an important part of there life they created beautiful masterpieces.

  8. What contributions have they made to present day society • They would make bow and arrows to hunt with. • We still use the bow and arrow today ,but ours are much sturdier the Anasazi’s. • There bow and arrows were made of flexible wood.

  9. Clothing • They wore lots of hair combs, earrings, necklaces, and other jewelry made from wood. • They wore blankets, shirts, kilts, or anything they could weave. • They sometimes wore snow boots, but mostly they wore sandals and moccasins.

  10. Fun Facts The women usually made the tools the men made the clothes and hunted. They stood in line to chase little animals with big long nets. They were not very friendly.
