Listening • Listening for “meaning”: Understanding vocabularies, argot, social contexts, etc. • Noticing nonverbal cues for discomfort, evasion, lying • Eye contact • Speech metre • Stuttering • Breathing patterns
Evaluating Responses • Relevance • Completeness • Validity (as in “truth”) • Probing should be undertaken to ensure all of the above.
