Why use a digital intervention to improve hpv vaccine uptake? • Parents are the prime decision-makers about vaccination, even into late adolescence • Parents remain under- and mis-informed about HPV vaccination • Mobile devices (mostly smartphones) have become the main means of information acquisition in both the developed and developing world • Apps on these devices can be responsive to parental concerns about vaccination generally, and HPV vaccination in particular

  6. Website development: 4 parent and 5 daughter focus groups I think it can be serious. Maybe in high school. I’m so confused. I don’t know if it is cervical cancer or an STD. I hope it works but I am not convinced. It could prevent you from getting HPV. There could be bad side effects. Nodulman, et al. Journal of School Health 2015;85(5):289-298

  8. Effectiveness of GIRLS’ web app! Significant difference, p=.006 Families given access to the app were almost 2 ½ times more likely to have immunized their girls than those given “Usual Information”!
