  4. SALFORD’S PB PILOT • BLOCK 3 TRANSPORT CAPITAL • £100K PER COMMUNITY COMMITTEE DEVOLVED FOR EACH OF LAST THREE YEARS • PB PILOTS HAVE RUN IN TWO OF EIGHT NEIGHBOURHOODS • HIGHWAYS SCHEMES PROPOSED BY COMMUNITY • COMMUNITY COME ALONG AND ‘SCORE’ THE SCHEMES

THE POSITIVES • GROWING NUMBER OF PEOPLE INVOLVED IN PROCESS OF DECIDING SPEND • DEMOGRAPHIC SPREAD OF PARTICIPANTS IS INCREASING • FEEDBACK IS OVERWHELMINGLY POSITIVE • INCREASING INVOLVEMENT IN OTHER ASPECTS OF COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT • CONTRIBUTES TO BUILDING STRONGER PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN COMMUNITIES AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITY

  6. PLANS FOR THE FUTURE THE SALFORD PLAN 2008 – 2011 COMMITS THE COUNCIL TO “EXTEND PARTICIPATORY BUDGETING TO ALL NEIGHBOURHOODS AND FURTHER DEVOLVE DECISION MAKING TO COMMUNITIES
