Symptoms • Backache • Severe confusion • Diarrhea • Feeling ill • Excessive bleeding and vomiting
Spread • Family members easily spread to each other • Saliva droplets • Bed sheets • Clothes • Most contagious during first week of infection
Current Research • To stop spread doctors isolate infected people • Making more vaccines for prevention • Vaccine now makes smallpox less severe • Doctors are looking for easiest way of spread
