Everyday Math Program • *HW requires your assistance. • *Play games that are sent home. • *Always practice basic addition and subtraction facts. • *Memorize combinations for 10.
Important Changes *Math: We will NOT go lesson by lesson. We will be skipping around, looking for mastery in basic skills. *ELA: Spelling tests will be on Friday along with high frequency word test. Focus skill test will be a different day.

Classroom Temperature • Sometimes the classroom feels chilly. You may keep a sweater or sweatshirt in your child’s backpack.

Learn Some Reading Shortcuts Stuck on a word? • Pay attention to beginning and ending sounds. • Cover chunks at the end. • Look for smaller words. • Use picture clues. • Skip the word and read on for clues, then test your choice.
