EX20-1PV Application in banking Device EX20-1PV is a basic element of the access control system, with GPRS/SMS and Ethernet transmission, created specifically for the most demanding customers, which are banks created specifically for the most demanding customers, which are banks. Control of access to bank branches is of the utmost importance for financial institutions. It is expected that access will be safe in the highest degree and at the same time an efficient and reliable.
EX20-1PV Application in banking Currently applied by most banks, methods of access control consist in handing over keys to outside security agencies, which bring keys when there is a need to open the bank institution and open the doors collectively, together with employees of banks. This system is expensive and often fails because of human mistakes (providing the wrong key, arrival to inappropriate branches) or other independent factors (as difficulties on the road causing delays in the delivery of keys).
EX20-1PV Application in banking EX20-1EV device offered by the EBS enables remote, secure and efficient management of access control system. Transmission of all data concerning the access control system is redundant based on two separate transmitters offering different channels of transmission – Ethernet transmitter which is the primary transmitter and GPRS/SMS transmitter being a backup transmitter, in case of breakdown of Ethernet link.
EX20-1PV Application in banking Standard opening the door with use of this system consists on entering two different codes by two different users (by bank employees). These codes are assigned to specific users and are stored onlyin the transmitter memory. After entering the code by an employee, if the code is on the codes list in the transmitter, transmitter sends to the monitoring center software the user ID assigned to the code. Monitoring center shall accept or reject code checking whether the given user is on the current list of authorized persons and also whether the person is authorized to open the door in given moment what is reported on the basis of previously created schedules.
EX20-1PV Application in banking The system also allows emergency door opening (for example, if the bank employee appearing in the schedule could not appear in the work) using a disposable code longer than the standard. This code is sent by the monitoring center via SMS to a trustworthy person and at the same time the command is sent to the transmitter which allows adding of a disposable code to base of codes located in the transmitter. Such disposable code has a specific time of life and becomes inactive if not used quickly enough.
EX20-1PV Application in banking Authorised bank employees may also add a new person to the list of authorized persons by terminal located in the central bank or bank agency. In the moment of entering into the system of the new person the software of the monitoring centre generates a unique identifier for a person together with the startup code. Startup code does not serve to opening the doors but only to change the code by user on its own code stored only in memory of the transmitter.
EX20-1PV Security • Devices EX20-1PV meet the need of keeping the highest safety standards, which in the case of access control systems used in banks have the highest priority. To ensure safe and trouble-free operation of the system, the following solutions was introduced: • Redundant data transmission (based on two transmitters servicing different transmission channels) • Encryption of all data in the Advanced Encryption Standard • Lack of possibilities of access in the codes by installer and by any worker of station
EX20-1PV Security • Standard codes for opening can not be changed from the level of monitoring centre or by the users • Giving commands concerning access control (so-called sensitive commands, i.e. removal/adding of users, approval/rejecting of codes, openly/closing the lock) can be achieved only by using special software. Connecting this special software with server of monitoring station is encrypted and an encryption key constitutes the authorization of this connection. • Any entry of invalid code is reported to the monitoring station • An attempt to open without the use of the code is reported to the monitoring station
EX20-1PV Benefits • Application of a system based on EX20-1PV gives a number of benefits, which could include, inter alia: • Significant reduction of costs in view of the eliminating the need daily commuting by employees of security agencies and basing of the transfer on already existing infrastructure (Ethernet link/connection) • Reduce problems with the opening of bank agencies resulting from human errors (delivering/providing the bad keys) and other factors (for example, difficulties on the road) • Constant and continuous supervision of the access control system enabling data collection and analysis of any irregularities
