Shoka and the Twin Towers IncidentBy Shelby Mitchell Shoka was doing her work in the Twin Towers, located in New York. Today was September eleventh two thousand and one, the day of the 9-11 terrorist attacks.
“Hey Shoka!” Shoka looked up to see one of her former work friends; he had brown short hair, blue eyes, and a great smile, which he was using now.
“Hi Larris,” Shoka said. Larris looked down at Shoka, a very pretty lady, sitting in a red office chair; she had short, straight black hair, that she wore in a headband. She had on the usual office look, bifocals, a dressy and grey suit, and a marriage ring.
“Say, you got any extra pens? I ran out of them.” Larris asked, “And call me Larry.” Shoka sighed, “No, I only got two.” Just then the whole building shook, the two worked in the North Tower, The North Tower was hit with a air plane. Shoka fell over, Larris fell on Shoka. They both looked around, frightened. “What was that?” Larris said, getting off of Shoka. “I’m not sure.” Shoka said, getting up too, just then they saw a neighbor from downstairs run up to them. “We got to hurry out of the building! A plane just hit it and it’s starting to fall! Can’t you smell the fire?” He said.
Shoka looked at Larris, Larris looked at Shoka. They nodded, and then looked at the worker from downstairs. “Come on!” He said, grabbing their arms and dragging them down stairs. After liking the idea of being on the highest floor Shoka now hated it. How were they going to get past the crashed plane? They felt the stairs move, starting to run faster Shoka felt that she was going to trip, soon she did.
“Shoka!” Larris called, turning around running back to the fallen woman to help her. “Leave me here, I’ll get up on my own!” She called. Larris hesitated, and left Shoka by herself.
Shoka stumbled to her feet, and started to run again, looking behind herself, she could tell the building was about to fall, how long had they been running for? There seemed to be no one behind her, only the shaking stairs above, but maybe there was someone, stuck. Shoka stopped, and turned around. What was she doing? She thought to herself.
*** Finally, Shoka ended up in the closest room to where she was before, she started to look around, if Shoka could save one person…. “Hello?” She called out. Suddenly the lady heard a small whimpering. She ran over to where it was. There laid a brunette, she looked young, but still had wrinkles here and there. “Let’s get out of here together,” Shoka said, holding out her hand. The Brunette held Shoka’s hand, getting up, she nodded.
The Two ran out of the door, and down the stairs. The building was shaking rapidly, Shoka almost felt it about to fall onto of them, but she kept running at her slow pace anyway, for the Brunette was injured and couldn’t run fast.
*** A plane was stuck in floor, fire was everywhere, and there were even fire men everywhere. Shoka and the brunette were both suck. But just then, a police man came. He gestured for them to follow him, they did. They walked to the tip of the air plane, jumping over it swiftly. The police man escorted them all the rest of the way too, it was nice.
*** The police man pushed the doors open, leading Shoka and the other lady out. Finally, after waving good bye to the police man, they walked outside. Shoka could almost smell fresh air. “Shoka!” Larris yelled, running over to hug her, “Are you okay?” Surprised, Shoka said “Y-yeah…” Larris looked at the Brunette, “I see you brought someone with you?”
“Yes, I’m Alison, glad to meet you.” The brunette talked for the first time in a few hours, “If it wasn’t for this brave lady here,” Alison looked at Shoka, “I would not be alive, Thank you.” “Your welcome..” Shoka said, “What happened to that person who told us to go downstairs?” She then asked.
“Oh…” Larris looked down, “He didn’t make it, and he got burned alive...” Shoka then noticed all the burn marks on Larris and his clothes. “That’s too bad…” There was a moment of silence. Alison then said, “It probably isn’t safe to discuss things here, let’s go somewhere else.” “Yeah, want to go to that Chinese Takeout a few miles from here?” Shoka suggested. “I’ll drive.”
Everyone agreed and walked over to Shoka’s car, it wasn’t that far from the buildings. Shoka unlocked the door and everyone went in, then they went to the Chinese Takeout and had to get new jobs. THE END.
