  5. Math Study Center This course is designed to give students time to practice the math skills and reasoning that they are learning in their regular math classes. This course is a semester (18 week) course. There will be no grade assigned to this course. Students that select this course will be required to pass 5 of 6 courses instead of 5 of 7 courses for athletic eligibility.

  6. Reading/Language Arts Students will: • Analyze text for craft & structure • Learn about the world through informational text • Use a variety of forms in writing (argumentative, narrative, etc.) We use Google Docs to keep student work in one place and give feedback. Students read silently for 20 minutes every day.

  7. Science Life Science (Mrs. Spencer) • Earth, Moon, and sun motion • Flow of energy in an ecosystem • Photosynthesis and respiration • Abiotic and biotic parts of an ecosystem • Succession Physical Science (Mr. Swabb) • Conservation of Energy • Working with the different forms of energy • Conservation of matter and mass • Tracing energy through a system • Electromagnetic waves Earth Science (Mr. Canterbury) • Make up of our atmosphere • Interactions between the hydrosphere, lithosphere and atmosphere • How water moves through the Earth • Greenhouse effect and Ozone • How ocean currents effect climate

  8. Social Studies Grade 7: • Greece, Rome (Mr. Vallette) • Africa, Christianity, Islam (Mr. Smith) • Medieval Europe, Renaissance, Reformation, Age of Discovery (Mr. Tisdale)

  10. French or Spanish Act out skits, play games, celebrate holidays, and learn about other cultures. Sing songs with motions for students who learn by hearing! By the end of the year, you will be able to listen, read, write and speak about: • school (places & classes) and supplies needed • common activities and frequency • yourself and your friends • your likes and dislikes • and to exchange basic information with new people

Seventh Grade Band • Play large band music every day • 4 concerts (one each quarter) • Use SmartMusic in class, and learn how to play new notes and rhythms. • Elementary schools tour If your child does not have experience with a musical instrument, please contact Mr. Klabunde to create a plan for success.

  13. Seventh Grade Orchestra If your child does not have experience with a musical instrument, please contact Mrs. Wedellto create a plan for success. • Students rehearse daily • Perform 4 public concerts each year • Elementary schools tour • Adjudicated performance at Cedar Point

  14. 7th Grade Choir • All students interested in singing are welcome • Build vocal skills • Learn to read music • Develop as artists • Perform 2-3 evening concerts a year Come Join Choir!!

  16. GTT Design & Modeling Learn not only how things work, but how you might make them work better!! GTT Automation & Robotics Target: to understand how robots impact society, along with how to design and program robots to perform specific tasks Target: to understand the design process and use it to solve real world challenges
