  2. Quick Write: Subs • In Soul Moon Soup, a substitute yells at Phoebe Rose for not doing work. Write a response to how the substitute teacher acted and how Phoebe reacted. • Do you agree with how Phoebe reacted? • What should she have done? • What would you have done?

  3. Sub Behavior • I will have a substitute tomorrow (Tuesday—all classes) and Wednesday (odd periods). • What you should do: • Be quiet when asked, do your work independently and quietly, stay focused, be respectful, etc. • What you should not do: • Be disrespectful, talk back, talk when you should be doing individual work, get out of your seat, throw objects, etc. • Consequences: • A referral, phone call home, and detention

Objective, Agenda, and Homework • Objective: Students will analyze a topic (homelessness) by reading and citing textual evidence from a book (Soul Moon Soup). • Agenda: • Quick Write • Greek Roots 19-21 • Soul Moon Soup • Section 3 and Section 4 • Homework: • Bring your book to class every day this week!! • Read 15 minutes and study Greek roots 5 minutes.

  5. Greek Roots 19-21 • Using the word lists I gave you last week, look up the part of speech and definition of ONE WORD FOR EACH ROOT. Then, draw a visual. • Look up one word for mega/megalo. • Look up one word for micro. • Look up one word for tele/tel/telo. • If you were not here Friday, then look at the power point for those days on my website to get the 3 new roots with their meanings and word lists. • Quiz is Friday!
