Stop Cyberbullying By Zoe Williams and Edan Parent
Definitions • Exclusions Teenagers (most commonly girls) will be excluded from more groups, or even chat rooms if they don’t have cell phones or internet access. Girls are more likely to be just excluded where as boys will begin with physical violence. • Harassment Harassment happens when somebody will spam somebody else with mean messages and do so constantly by text or online so everybody can see it. -if only happens once you should just ignore it and move on.
Outing Outing is the public display, or taking personal items such as text messages and reposting or copy and pasting it on a public page. Even reading out loud is considered “outing” • Cyber stalking Same as harassment but online or through text/emailing. It is another way to harass people.
Masquerading Masquerading is when a person will pretend to be somebody else to hide their identity. • Flaming An argument, that usually takes place where everybody can see it. In public chat rooms, and usually is in all caps to make it more obvious.
Pseudonyms A pseudonym is like a fake name or nickname. (lindseyluv; cyberbully) • Anonymity When people comment and make threatening comments towards you. But they’ve make it anonymous or under a Pseudonym.
How to Stop cyberbullying • Tell somebody about the bully (An adult) • Print off the mean things they are saying. Save the evidence. • Stand up, but don’t get revenge. • Report their account • Delete your account so they cant hurt you • Don’t let them know it bothers you • And don’t become the bully yourself
How it affects people • Cyberbullying can affect people with… • Depression • Self harm • Paranoia • Not wanting to go to school • And last but not the least important…. Suicide

After self harm, if the cyberbullying will continue or get worse some people will commit suicide. Some girl or boys who have commit suicide; • Morgan Musson, 13 and was bullied for being 6ft tall. • Rebecca Sedwick, 12 and was being harassed online • Todd Loik, 15 and he was hounded with ‘nasty’ messages • Rehtaeh Parsons, 17 Gang rape pictures were posted everywhere • Amanda Todd, 15 Flashed online and she was bullied and threatened with them. • And many other’s that nobody has even heard of
