  2. Anonymity • Anonymity is when an anonymous person makes comments threatening you, through e-mail, messaging or chat-rooms. Anonymity is a big problem People can setup fake websites, profiles etc. If somebody sends you a message on your phone with a number that you don’t recognize , you probably don’t know the person that sent the message. These are some examples of anonymity.

  3. Pseudonyms • A pseudonym is a nickname many bullies use a different name online, to hide their real name from you. When you use a different name online for chat rooms/gaming sites or social media those are all examples of using a pseudonyms.

  4. Flaming • An argument in chat rooms or via e-mail. An example from People magazine is “ I was instant messaging my best friend, and we had an argument over a guy… The next day she printed out the conversation and handed it out to a group of girls, but she changed it. It read that I had said all these mean things [about them all] that I never said, and they believed her.” Never send a reply to a bully while you’re mad. Wait a while , to cool down, before you send a reply or don’t send another message at all.

  5. Masquerading • Masquerading is when you pretend to be somebody else online. They might use a fake e-mail or instant messaging name. This would make it look like it was sent by somebody else. Some “friends” would tell you if you were a real friend you would tell them the password, don’t tell them your password because you don’t know what they might do.

  6. Cyber stalking • Cyber stalking is a type of harassment. The definition of cyber stalking is “the repeated use of electronic communications to harass or frighten someone, for example sending threatening e-mails.”

  7. Outing • Outing is when you’re in public and a person forwards embarrassing stuff to another person. An example of Outing is printing out a very personal conversation on your phone and giving a copy to other people.

  8. Harassment • Harassment is when bullies send offensive messages to another person. They often send these messages repeatedly, or at weird times of the day. Some times they will post these messages somewhere public like a chat room or on Facebook,Twitter,Instagrasm etc.

  9. Exclusion • Exclusion is when a group of people don’t let other people take part in social activities with them so they feel lonely and unwanted.
