Nevenwerkingen van plantaardige GM • Teratogene eigenschappen: invloed op de menselijke vrucht (misvormingen) embryotoxische werking • vb softenon (thalidomide) zeer ernstige misvormingen • planten met teratogene werking: Conium maculatum (gevlekte scheerling) omwille van piperidine-alkaloiden (ook zeer toxisch, Socrates gifbeker); Cinchona-soorten, kinine is in hoge dosissen een abortivum
