  2. What is FLAC? • Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC) • Existing Banner functionality: • Faculty assignment accessible through myCNM • Academic School’s review • Faculty review and acknowledgement • Feeds Faculty assignment information into the Payroll module

  5. Benefits of FLAC • Maximizes Banner data entry across modules • Eliminates local data of pay info • Improves timeliness of pay • Simplifies acknowledgment of faculty assignments • Eliminates paper Letters of Appointment (LOAs)

  6. Benefits of FLAC for Faculty Full-term courses: • Term contract (LOA) available in first week • Fall 13, pay begins in first pay period of term • Compensation paid during the term of the course • Faculty can request to paid through breaks; • Pay stretched for those receiving benefits • Pay advice shows pay per CRN

  7. Timeline • Implement in Summer 2013 Semester

  8. SZASECT • Existing entry of faculty assignments • Information feeds to Payroll

  9. SIAASGN • Pulls information from SZASECT. • Academic School will populate four fields • Workload and Contract Type will be verified • Position Number and Suffix fields populated

  10. Importance of Banner Entry Assignment process initiates faculty pay Academic leaders support of process • Thorough and timely faculty assignments (no TBAs) • Changes to assignments • Accuracy of entry by school staff • Timeliness of review

  11. Academic School will verify faculty schedules through myCNM

  12. Academic Schools will review teaching assignments in myCNM

  13. Academic Schools will access more information for each course assignment

  14. Academic Schools will have more access to Faculty information

  15. Academic Schools can assess more detail on workload

  16. Academic Schools will know if faculty have acknowledged

  17. Academic Schools will have ability to download data

  18. Faculty will now access assignments through myCNM

  19. Faculty will view their course assignments and pay information online

  20. Faculty will see additional information • CRN • Course Title • Section • Workload • Percentage of responsibility • Compensation • Faculty Acknowledgment will replace the Letter of Appointments

  21. When FLAC Implementation is done….. • Reduced complex paper processing • Improved communications with faculty • Provided more timely information • Created higher degree of confidence
