  8. Scenario 1 • With the change in the technology you, being a manager, of Koh - I - Noor Manufacturing are responsible for replacing the computer systems in your organization. Prepare a decision making plan for implementing this decision.

Possible Solution • Step 1 – Identify the problem • Need for replace of computers • Step 2 – understand everyone’s interest • People define demand keeping in view their interest • Step 3 – List the possible solution(s) • Replace with laptops or desk tops • Step 4 – evaluate the options • Which company, which price, which specification • Step 5 – Select the option • You selected Dell P-IV (suppose) • Step 6 – implement the selected option • Purchased and installed in office • Step 7 – learn from feed back • Is this decision fulfill the requirement? (is the problem solved?)

Format for Problem Solution Report • Title page • Abstract or executive summary • Table of contents • List of appendices • Body of report • Introduction • Background – problem history – aims of the study • Research methods – interview, questionnaire etc. • Findings – solution to the problem identified • Recommendations • Conclusion – relate main ideas, problem and solution (output) • References
