Page 12, Egypt, RIGHT side vocabulary • Make 3 columns on the RIGHT side and title them: • WORD • SENTENCE • PICTURE • Fill in the following under “WORD” • 1) theocracy • 2) Pharaoh • 3) pyramid • 4) Nile River • 5) Delta • 6) mummification • 7) papyrus • 8) hieroglyphics
Page 12, RIGHT side vocabulary • Beside each word, write a sentence using that word. • Beside each sentence, draw a visual representation of that word. Egypt & Nubia p.13 RIGHT side • Magnet Summary from Chapter 4, section 1 • Fold the paper in half vertically • Make 5 rows for your 2 columns • In the left rows, right the following topics in the middle of each square: • Nomads rule Egypt(p 89) • New Kingdom of Egypt (pp. 90-91) • Empire Declines(p. 91) • Kushites Conquer the Nile (pp. 92-93) • Golden Age of Meroe (p. 94)
Egypt & Nubia p.13 RIGHT side • As you read each section, write 5 or fewer “magnet” words that magnetically “attract” to the term on the left. You will be writing these words around this term, keeping to the left side of your fold. • After you have your words, you will use the words to write a quick summary of that section on the right side of your fold.
