  2. General Information Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan region, is recognized as the ancient inhabited city, it became a governorate on 01/04/1923. It is considered the safest and the most developed governorate in Iraq • Area: 14000 square km • Population: 1,820,000

ThThe master plan of Erbil city is prepared and designed in 2008 by a Lebanese company (Dar Alhandas) based on the priorities and strategic plans of (KRG) to cover expansion and development of all sectors for the next 25 years. e overall sewerage network plan including treatment units is prepared and designed by a Germany company (VOSSING) separately.   7. Main Sources of Funding Contribution from 2004 to the end of 2012 Kurdistan Regional Government : 3,885,665,398 USD Coalition Forces: 410,744,000 USD Total 4,296,409,406 USD

  8. Implemented Projects in Erbil under KRG Budget Total projects implemented in Erbil from 2004 to 2012under KRG Budget are 7442 projects with total cost of 4,593,951,836,791 IQD (equal to 3,885,665,398 USD approximately) as shown in the chart below per sectors.

  9. Implemented Projects in Erbil under Coalition Forces Budget Total Cost of implemented projects in Erbil from 2004 until 2010 under Coalition Forces Budget is 410,744,000 USD as shown in the chart below per sectors.

  10. Governmental Implemented Projects Erbil International Airport – Total cost of (400,000,000 USD) IFRAZ water Project: KRG & USA Government joint Project – Total cost of (200,000,000 USD)

Implemented Private Sector Projects in Erbil • Major private sector projects implemented so far are: • Nishtiman Modern Market / the sum of 1 billion USD. • Dream City project which is the largest housing project. • Empire Tourism project/ for the sum of 100 million USD. • Hawa Tourism and Residential project. • New City commercial project. • Naz City residential project. • American Village. • English Village . • Italian Village. • Family fun Nearly 20000 residential houses are still under implementation benefited from Law number 4 in 2006 of supporting the real state fund.
