  2. Kurdistan Region 1-Kurdistan is an a federal region of Iraq 2-consisting of three provinces: Erbil, Duhok, and Sulaymaniyah 3-The population of the Kurdistan region is approximately Five million 200 thousand 4- About 1.316 million reside live in the Duhok province

Duhok Location and History • Duhokgovernorate lies in the far north-west of Iraq • in Duhok ,Established as the center of Dohuk district since -1873, it became the center of Dohuk province in 1969. • - It is away from the capital of Kurdistan region (Erbil) about 165km . • - It is away fromthe capital of Iraq (Baghdad) about 470km . • - It has a strategic location since it is considered to be a point of joint among three parts of Kurdistan (Syria- Turkey- Iraq).

  4. 80 km west of Ninawa governorate • 42 km south of Turkish border • 470 km north of Baghdad city, • Iraqi capital • 52 km east of Syria. • 165 km west of Iran . • 35 km west of Tigris River . • coordinates • Latitude 36°52 • Longitude 43°59' E • 540 m above sea level

Demographics • Area • Area 0f the Duhokgovernorate is about 40,643 sqkm . • The area city is about (10715)km2 • there is a strategic international road passing across Duhok city which connects Iraqi Kurdistan with Turkey and the external wide world . • also there is a passing petrol tube which passes from Kirkuk to Turkey in its northern-western angle.

  6. The Duhok governorate is divided managerially into the following territories 1- Duhok territory 2-Semel territory 3-Zakhoterritory 4- Amedeyeterritory 5- Sheikhanterritory 6- Bardarsh territory 7- Akre territory

  7. Climate The city of Dohuk has two major climates: Semi-desert in the summer and continental during the wet season. It is characterized by two seasons: Hot summer (May to September) without any significant rainfall, Cold winter (October to April) with rainfall.

Tourism sector in Duhok Duhok is one of the major tourist destinations in Iraq which is located in the northern part of the Iraq Duhok is a huge attraction by itself , it is beautiful city with modern wide streets and multiple stories buildings and a lot of new hotels which are built in the last few years . Most prominent attractions sides which are inside city :- 1- Traditional Bazaar which located in the city center 2- DuhokPanorama located in the city center show the history of Kurdish people.3- DuhokGallery for fine Kurdish arts .4- Many good super markets such as Mazi supermarket.5- DuhokDam.6 - MaziDream City for games and amusements park .7 - Azadipark ,which is a wide well organized garden Most prominent attractions places out side city are ; 1- Dalal Bridge in Zakho 2 - Happy park in Zakho 3- Sarsenk Resort one of the famous place in Iraq since Kingdom era 4- Umadyia Resort 4- ZawitaResort 5- Anishke Resort

Commercial Sector Duhok is the conduit for trade with Turkey, through the border city of Zakho ( Ibrahim Al-Khalil Complex Border ) which is consider to be the second large gate of Iraq , after Auum AL-qaser port in basra In the future DuhokInternational Airport will further strengthen tourism and trade links in Duhok, which is one of Iraq’s most prosperous governorates . Duhok International Fair The First fair DBX Exhibition in 2011 and 2nd fair Exhibition in 2012 There are 1657 Company ( it's Local Companies ) throughout the Duhok province There are 84 Company ( it's Foreign Companies ) throughout the Duhok province There are also about 25600 trader throughout the Duhok province

Investment Public benefits awarded to eligible investment projects include: Provision of land plots for subsidized lease Provision of public infrastructure to the project fence Exemption from corporate taxes (10 years) and customs duties (5 years) Foreign and national investors are treated equally. Foreign investors may choose to invest in Kurdistan with or without local partners and may employ foreign labor. Full repatriation of profits is allowed.
