Teacher notes from Mr. Swanson • Here is the power point I used to...set up gmail • get an apple id • download a free app • The directions work well, but it works best if you use air server or a dongle to demonstrate each step on the screen. • In terms of management, it worked best when I really held students to the expectation of helping others. After I demonstrated each step, I asked the class "who already has... [a gmail account that meets our handle requirements or google drive]. Okay, please stand up and start walking around. Everyone else must ask for help from three students before asking me." I didn't do this last year and it took twice as long even with me, George, Cole and Paul in the room. This year, it was just me and George and 60 kids and it was smooth as silk. • Also, giving the option to play freerice.com if there is no one else to help made me feel better about using up so much instructional time.
