Some more ideas • Have and display passion • Subject, relevance, assignments, etc. • What you reward is what you get • What do students “get” if engaged • Wake ‘em up/”Prime the pump” • Set the atmosphere • Invite them to question • Start with questions - connection • Sensationalism works • Ask a question – be quiet/patient
