SCENARIO 1 • Date: 01 April 2014 • Location: The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka • Facts : • Sri Lanka military and Ministry of Disaster Management have formal, prepared disaster response plans for the nation • Sri Lanka military noted that little CBRNE-TIM capability is built into their response plans • There is a likelihood of future CBRNE-TIM incidents in Sri Lanka • Sri Lanka is concerned about being prepared to handle a CBRN-TIM incidents that requires a national level response and/or foreign assistance • Task: • In this group, planners will work with any existing plans to develop/refine a National CBRN-TIM plan that includes externally sourced materials

GROUP 1 Tasks PROBLEM • Review existing National Plans, draft a CBRNE-TIM portion to the plan • Include considerations for detection, foreign assistance, contamination effects, security, medical, weather, time, spill mitigation, environmental protection/restoration, military RoE, and public affairs • Incorporate a “whole of government/whole of society” approach to drafting the plan • Propose other CBRNE-TIM trainingideas for Sri Lankan governmental agencies
