What is OSOR? • OSOR stands for Open Source Observatory and Repository • OSOR is financed by the IDABC programme of the European Commission; financing beyond the lifetime of IDABC will be ensured by the follow-up programme ISA • OSOR offers services for OSS projects serving the needs of administrations CORD Task Force – 15 June 2009
The OSOR community OSS and Statisticsoffers: • A commented list of statistical OSS useful for public administrations • A wiki with more detailed information on the listed applications • Additional useful links and resources for administrations interested in the subject, including Guidelines on publishing statistical software as OSS • You are invited: • To become a member of the community • To contribute to the wiki and to the list of applications CORD Task Force – 15 June 2009
The OSOR repositoryoffers: • A full configured development system supporting standard development tools integrated into one web page • A project web site with a wiki • A source repository with versioning tool allowing the development teams to safely coordinate and track software source code changes with a choice between CVS or SVN • Tools for communication between members of a development team like discussion forums, bug tracking, support for change and enhancement requests, submission of patches, mailing lists, posting of news, task lists and to-do lists, document management with approval queue • You are invited: • To publish your statistical software as OSS here CORD Task Force – 15 June 2009
