The 5 main category • Inquiry/Technology • Interdependence • Universe • Atmosphere • Energy/Force
Inquiry/technology • There are 4 parts to this topic • Translate data • Cause and effect • Experimental Error • Adaptive vs. Assistive
Translate Data • Tables and graphs are most often used to organize and present scientific information. Data tables are useful for presenting many different types of data. Sometimes data answer questions that begin with words such as: Who? What? How? Graphs can shows data that can answer question such as: How many? How much? When?
Cause and Effect • Scientists observe and ask questions about the natural world. They look for answers to their questions. Scientists often carry out experiments or investigations in order to answer their questions and test ideas. Their methods and results form the body of knowledge that makes up science.
Experimental Error • Sometimes a scientist repeats someone else’s experiment and gets different results. Then the scientist have to figure out why.
Independence • There are 4 parts to this topic • Producer/consumer/scavenger • Matter & Energy in Ecosystem • Biotic/Abiotic • Describe Major Biomes
Universe • There are 7 parts to this topic • Components of universe • Distance & Appearance • Day vs. Month vs. Year • Explain Moon Phases • Tides • Four Seasons • Solar vs. Lunar Eclipse
Atmosphere • There are 4 parts to this topic • Heat Convection in Atmosphere • Solar Energy and Wind • Ocean Currents • Make Weather Predictions
Energy/Force • There are 6 parts to this topic • Types of Potential Energy • Potential and Kinetic Energy • Energy Transformation • Conservation of Energy • Circuits • Conduct Electricity
