  2. Our History DreamWorks Animations SKG INC. (DWA) was formed in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen. The company’s animation division partnered with Northern California-based PDI to produce CG animated movies, beginning with Antz in 1996. The company has manage to create major hits such as Shrek which one an Academy Award, and Shrek two, that ended up becoming the highest grossing animated film in history.
