HISTORY • Pavlikeni’s Secondary school opened in October 1920, with two classes of 63 students. They were temporarily housed in the Elementary school in the town center while the secondary school was built.
HISTORY The residents of Pavlikeni donated money for the new school building. Construction started in 1923 and was completed in one year.
HISTORY In 1937 the school was named after Princess Maria-Louisa, the daughter of King Boris III,then The King of Bulgaria.
HISTORY Since 1946 the school has been named after the significant teacher and revolutionary – Bacho Kiro.
HISTORY In 1949 another school building was built.
SCHOOL NOWADAYS There are: 576 students 50 teachers 2 buildings spacious classrooms
FAMOUS ALUMNI Nikola Kirilov Kasabov • He is the Director of The Knowledge Engineering and Discovery Research Institute • Professor and Chair of The Knowledge Engineering University of Otago, New Zealand • Since 2008 he has organized a scholarship for the best graduatesin mathematics, science and IT. • Since 2010, for the 90th anniversary of the school, he has organized another scholarship for students from first to eighth grade.
We are proud to present our most successful students Ilian Hristov was a finalist in the National Physics Olympiad 2003 and took part in the international Olympiad in Taiwan.

Peace corps It is now 4 years since our school hasvolunteers from the Peace Corps • Tyler Hurley – inculcates an innovative method of co-teaching a foreign language, teaching a course in English for teachers and course for people with disabilities. • Alison Bell– English teacher, organized the celebration of traditional American holidays, anti-AIDS projects, Environmental Protection, camp for building leadership skills.
