Warm-up pre-write: QLs • Take out your supplies (compass, straightedge, protractor, 2 pen/pencil colors, paper, textbook). • Write name/date/period on a half-sheet of paper, and do the following: • Complete these definitions: • A quadrilateral is… • A parallelogram is… • Draw an equiangular quadrilateral. • Sketch a hexagon and draw two of its diagonals.
Definitions • In any polygon... • consecutive sides are those that intersect. • consecutive angles are those having a common side. • consecutive vertices are endpoints of the same side. • diagonals are segments connecting non-consecutive vertices. • In quadrilaterals: • Sides that do not intersect are called opposite sides. • A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles.
Parallelograms • A parallelogram is a quadrilateral whose opposite sides are parallel. • What kind of symmetry does it have?
Homework • 25+ min: • Finish Asg #50 (Ch. 6 AR) if not already done
