Overview • In response to President Obama's commitment to openness in Government and to the Open Government Directive, the National Coordination Office for Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NCO/NITRD) is making all of its NITRD budget data available to the public and our customers. This information comes from member Federal Agencies and is broken down over the following eight Program Component Areas (PCA)*: • CSIA Cyber Security and Information Assurance • HEC High End Computing (Broken into two groups) • HEC I&A: High End Computing Infrastructure & Application • HEC R&D: High End Computing Research & Development   • HCI&IM Human Computer Interaction and Information Management • HCSS High Confidence Software and Systems • LSN Large Scale Networking • SDP Software Design and Productivity • SEW Social, Economic, and Workforce Implications of IT • Note: * PCA: Program Component Areas were redefined in 2000. Overview • The NITRD Dashboard** • Helps interested individuals better track funding trends and identify agencies with investments in technical areas of interest, which will enable entrepreneurs and grant seekers to better direct their efforts to engage the correct Federal agency. • Data Sources • The data sources driving the NITRD Dashboard are the Agency NITRD Budget Cross Cuts as reported in the NITRD Supplement to the President’s Budget. 13. Semantic Cloud Computing Tools Semantic MEDLINE [9] is a multiple-step tool in development that helps users manage the results of PubMed searches. The application extracts the succinct meaning of the text it processes and displays the resulting distilled data in an interactive graph that maintains links to the original text.
