Grade 10 Careers CourseGLC2O1 and GLC2OL This course teaches students how to develop and achieve personal goals for future learning, work, and community involvement. Students will assess their interests, skills, and characteristics. The course explores postsecondary learning and career options, prepares students for managing work and life transitions, and helps students focus on their goals through the development of a career plan.
Guest Speakers Our course brings in guest speakers to help enrich student’s understanding of various careers and assist them in the decision-making process. Our guests have included: York Regional Police, Canadian Mental Health Association, Certified General Accountants, Insurance Institute, Seneca College, York University, Skills Trades, and Job Skills presentations.
Employment It is our belief at Unionville High School that your son/daughter be equipped with the necessary tools needed to confidently enter the workforce. Each student will have the opportunity by the end of the course to complete a perfect resume, reference sheet, obtain a reference letter and compile a personal Career Portfolio necessary for employment.
