Senior Year Timeline Fall: • Counselor meeting • Register for AP Exams (Automatic) • Continue college search and visits • College & career seminars • File FAFSA starting October 1st!!! • MCC College Fair!! (October 3rd, 6:00pm) • Complete the CSS/Financial Aid Profile if required • Scholarship search • Request letters of recommendations • Apply to colleges (First deadlines are Nov 1st)
Senior Year Timeline Spring: • Continue applying for scholarships • Many scholarships will have deadlines January-April • Watch for financial aid package from colleges • Decide on your college and send in deposit (by May 1) • Complete your senior survey - final transcript request

Educational Training • Certificate: Granted upon completion of a specific program; generally a trade or technical specialty. Usually requires fewer than 18 months of training. May or may not require a college degree. (Non-transferable) • Associate's degree: Awarded upon completion of a specific program; usually requires two years of full-time study and 60–70 credits. • Associates of Applied Studies (Non-transferable) • Associates of Arts/Science (Transferable) • Bachelor's degree : Granted upon completion of a specific program; usually requires four years of full-time study and 126–132 credits. • **Master's degree: Granted upon completion of a specific program; usually requires one to three years and approximately 30–40 credits beyond a bachelor’s degree. • **Doctoral degree: Awarded upon completion of a specialized program of study; usually requires three to five years beyond a bachelor's

SAT/ACT TESTING Should you retake the test? • Schools take highest ACT or SAT score • Every college and university will take either test Why does my score matter? #1 Admission #2 Scholarships #3 Senior final exams waived Senior year (Sem. 2) #4 Cum Laude (1010) What if I have a different test score that I want sent out? Fill out the form available! Or just your school day score will show.
Earning College Credit NOW • Advanced Placement (AP) - All State Universities in Illinois, by law, must give you class credit for a score of 3 and above. • Does your college accept the credit? • Dual Credit - Transcripted through MCC or Aurora University • You must request that the college send your transcript • CLEP - Test out of a class based on your current knowledge of a subject. Contact your college for more information.
