Alignment • Strands vs. Outcomes (standards reflect strands – body of common knowledge, outcomes, competencies) • Courses reflect the outcomes/competencies • Aligned with common core and Ohio Board of Regents • Assessments are aligned with the learning (course competencies)
Process • Supports the teacher evaluation system and student learning objectives • CTPD then ODE • Local industry advisory committees • CTE Consultant
Manufacturing/Engineering • Standards- available now • Courses and Descriptions- available now • Course Outlines- In Draft form until mid November • CTE26- Due March 1st, 2014 • New WebXams- Item writing this winter, available Fall of 14 • Everyone must transition by Fall of 15
Course Business Rules • A course is 120-280 hrs. of content • Middle School course is 60-120 • A program is 4 testable courses • Capstone is not a testable course • 4 courses must come from the Pathway area– other courses can come from other pathways or career fields

Construction • Plan Reading 178019 This course provides the context and skills required for a student to interpret and apply technical information contained within a set of construction plans. This course sets the foundation for further study in design and construction. • Architecture Design – Structural and MEP 178020This course focuses on the principles, concepts, and use of complex graphic tools used in the field of architecture, structural systems, and construction trades. Emphasis is placed on the use of computer assisted design (CAD) tools in the creation of floor plans, wall sections, and elevation drawings.
Construction • Architecture Design – Site and Foundation Plans 178021 • This course introduces students to advanced architectural design concepts. Emphasis is placed on the use of computer assisted design (CAD) tools in the design and execution of site and foundation plans as well as topographical information and detail drawings of stairs and wall sections.

Important Dates • 3-1-14: CTE 26 for Renewing Programs Due • 3-15-14: CTE 26 Appeals Due • Fall 2014: Courses and WebXams will be available, you can transition IF YOU WANT • Fall 2015: Everyone must transition, old Program Codes and WebXams will no longer be available.
