Spelling Activities:Choose one activity to complete 1. Silly Sentences: Choose a spelling word, using each letter of the word write a sentence, keeping the letters in the correct order. E.g. TOGETHER =Two Old Green Extra Terrestrials Had Exploding Rockets. 2. Just for Fun Radio Communication: Working in pairs, using the radio code cards spell out a spelling word, your partners guesses the word and makes sure it was spelt correctly E.g. Alpha, November, Tango = ANT 3. Acrostic trick: Pick a spelling word and make an acrostic poem E.g. Bike Bikes are Interesting Kinds of Exercise 4. Picture trick: Draw picture clues in your spelling words to remember the difficult parts of the word. E.g. bicycle 5. Spell, Rock and Rap: Using your spelling words write a rap, cheer or chant that includes the spelling word and how to spell it. 6. Chain link Sentences: Write sentences using you spelling words, use the last word of the first sentence as the first word of the next sentence. E.g. I rode my bicycle on the track. Track the birds in the trees. Trees are found in rainforests. Rainforests are interesting places to explore….
