Meaning of Halal • Halal signifies 'permissible' in Arabic and portrays anything that is permitted under Islamic law. • In spite of the fact that it is regularly used to depict sustenance and drink, halal can allude to any question or action. Anything NOT permitted is alluded to as haram.
Halal Certification criteria Halal certification is given to food/meat that satisfy the below conditions. • Animals that are slaughtered by Islamic means • Animals that are not stoned to death • Animals that are not dead by any natural calamities. • Animals killed by Electrifying or other means. • Pork and Pork fat or related products are not permissible • Carnivorous animals and scavengers, as well as birds with claws
It must be a product made by using the appropriate utensils and machinery, which also cannot have been in contact with any haram substances such as blood, pork or pork fat etc • Usually, fish are considered Halal. • Halal preservatives, colourants, flavourings or additives are allowed. • In animal feed, the feed must be of vegetable origin.
If meat/food items satisfy the above conditions then it can be categorized under Halal certification.
